Tasker is a Nigerian app for booking home services in Lagos. You pick a fixed-price job or ask for quotes, an ID-checked pro does the work, and your payment is held until you tap Job done.

Download the Tasker app, sign in with your phone number and choose a service. For a fixed-price job you pick a time and pay. For anything else you describe the job, add photos, and up to 5 pros send you quotes to compare.

Some common jobs, such as AC servicing or a standard home clean, have a fixed price that you see before you book. Jobs that vary a lot, such as roofing or catering, are priced by quote: pros look at your description and photos and tell you what they would charge.

Tasker is live in 14 Lagos areas: Lekki Phase 1, Ikate, Oniru, Victoria Island, Ikoyi, Osapa London, Ajah, Yaba, Surulere, Ikeja, Gbagada, Magodo, Ogudu and Festac. When you book, you pick your area, and the request goes to pros who work in that trade and travel to that part of Lagos.

No. Booking, payment, chat and calls all happen in the Tasker app. This website explains the service and links to the app.

You pay the job price plus a 10% service fee. The app shows both, and the total, before you pay. The pro keeps the full job price.

It is held by Tasker's licensed payment partner, not paid to the pro. The pro is paid after you tap Job done. If you do not respond within 48 hours after the pro marks the job finished, the job completes on its own, and the app reminds you before that happens.

If the pro declines or does not respond within 15 minutes, the request ends and you get a full automatic refund, including the service fee.

The pro asks in the app chat and you approve or decline. Nothing extra is added to your bill unless you approve it.

Before a pro can take jobs, they confirm their NIN, take a selfie that is compared with their ID photo, and show proof of their skills or experience, such as photos of past work. Pros who pass get an ID-checked badge.

Each booking has a 4-digit start code in your app. Give it to the pro when they arrive and you are ready for work to begin. Only give it to the pro shown in the app.

Do not tap Job done. Report the problem in the app and the money stays held while support looks at it. For jobs marked as eligible, if the same problem comes back within 7 days, Tasker sends a pro to fix it at no extra cost.

No. Phone numbers are masked. You chat and call the pro inside the app, and calls are not recorded.

The customer pays into Tasker before the job. When they tap Job done, the job price is released to the pro's bank account. Tasker does not take a commission out of the job price.
